One of my all time favorite bands is Bon Jovi. They've weathered thirty years of heckling, musical climate changes, wardrobes, and the all important HAIR. Heh.
If JBJ was reading this he'd roll his damn eyes so hard. He hates when people talk about his hair. LOL
No, honestly--when I think of Bon Jovi I do think about more than the ridiculously attractive front man. At 51 he's still freaking unbelievably hot. It's not right.
Ahem. But I digress...
When I talk about Bon Jovi--when I'm not lusting over the front man--I talk about the story songs.
Richie Sambora and Jon Bon Jovi are really good at dragging you in and telling you a story. The lyrical content tends to be a little more adult themed these days. How can it not? They're not 23 years old anymore.
But there's still songs that remind me of Born to Be My Baby, Prayer, Sat Night, etc.
This song off the new album, Because We Can, showcases that tried and true and rip-your-guts-out-with-a-grin kind of song that reminds everyone that they still have the chops to release another new album even 30 years down the line.

In a world without faith
you're what I believe
If I robbed a bank
You wouldn't care
You'd come sit on my lap in the electric chair
And when they flip the switch, we'd just kiss
and for those that can't listen thru SPOTIFY...another lyric YT.
