Rock Chick Redemption by Kristen Ashley My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I know I'm going to forget stuff when I'm writing up my review later. *sigh* I haven't even finished it and I know this one is going to end up 5 stars. Roxie is a bit smarter about not getting herself into trouble. This time she's honestly just put into bad situations where she should be safe and isn't. (except for the haunted house thing. DUH. LOL)
Hank is overwhelmingly male and alpha to the extreme, but my GOD does this man love her. It's so fast, but it's so complete that I'm willing to go with it. If I was Roxie--and man, I'd kill to be her. Well, after Billy is caught. THEN I totally want to be her because MY GOD. I want a man like Hank.
100x's do I want a man like Hank.
1hr later...finishing up the book and here I am to finalize the review. I hate to compare Mz. Ashley to Evanovich, but there are parallels. They both know how to write madcap fun.
But Ashley totally pulls it off better. Her characters are crazy, but they make sense and there's so much growth by the end of the story that you feel satisfied instead of ready to murder.
The only teensy issue I had was with the end of the book. The flash forward then back was wholly unnecessary and just ruined the otherwise awesome pacing of the book. And I was so with the characters all the way that I just don't even care enough to take away my 5 stars.
Vance is up next!
